Description
I believe the name was American Fries. They came in a cardboard box, similiar to the size of a cereal box, and were similar to what is available today called Andy Capp's Pub Fries. Baked potato snacks. They were wonderful!

I'm glad to see someone else remembers these! I loved American Fries! Thes closest thing I've found nowadays is Andy Capp's Hot Fries. Did these get discontinued altogether, or have they resurfaced under another name?

They were so good, I still remember the distinct taste...those were true fries!
I was nuts about these. Use to buy about 5 boxes at a time. I have not found a snack that comes close to these.
Now, at least, I know I'm not crazy to remember them. I seem to recall a slightly different surface texture (smoother) than the various "snack fries" (Andy Capp's among them) around since
they used to have andy capps pub fries which were a golden colored regular flavored frie.which was and still is my favorite all time snack.i called con-agra foods and they told me those were disscontinued to lack of sales so we are stuck with hot,steak,cheddar and bbq. but im still lookin for some and will never give up i dont care how old and stale they are PEACE!

About the Pub Fries. All we need to do is have a request petition with all the people we can get, they may bring them back. When they removed them from the market was around the time of a bad recession. People lost their jobs and couldn't afford them any more. What do you all say? How about it!?

I Cannot believe I found other people that care about bringing them back as much as me!! I even tried emailing them wants and asking them to please please bring them back because they were the best things I've ever had and I've never found anything as good to this date as far as snacks like that so I agree yes anything we can do to get them back on the Shelf or even if they could just make them and ship them to us I miss them!!!

When is the petition for the original pub fries going to be issued? You can count my family and I to be signing!!!! All time favorite !!! Truly miss them!!!! The hot fries are ok, but nothing compares they had a great taste!! Nothing compares!!!!!
Andy Capp snack foods go back to 1970. Goodmark Foods originally made them, later Con Agra. American Fries go back to 1970. Glenn Foods (Glenny's) of Freeport, NY makes them (ketchup or fish flavored).
