I didn't have any velvet bell bottoms (though I remember seeing them), but a lot of us, male and female, had brushed denim bell bottoms that had a similar lush feel to them. This was in the early to mid-70s.
yes velvet bellbottoms were very kewl, very superfly. 1972-1976 wuz the time. at my school they wore them with flowery elastic bottom shirts and big apple velvet caps. it wuz kinda inner city black.
