Description: jogging bottoms became a fashion statement in the late 70s. people would add accessories to smarten the outfit up and wear it out. people were very consious of their body shape and health at this time so wearing it out at night would be quite excepted .

I don't remember wearing one until the 80s.
I loved wearing these outfits to school as a small child and I wanted to wear one every to school everyday as soon the weather got cold. In those days the turtle neck and jogging outfit combo was popular, so I ended up wearing turtlenecks with my jogging suits everyday.
@ turtleneck, I loved wearing jogging outfits to school everyday too. My favorite type of jogging outfit were the ones made out nylon and I wanted to be in a suit everyday no matter what time of the year it was. I loved the swishy sound they made and I wanted to hear myself swishy with my friends who also loved those suits. At recess, all of us would walk around the play ground because we wanted to hear ourselves swishy. One of us would always say swishy, swishy, swishy as we took steps and our pants rubbed together.
After seeing my friends and teachers in swishy jogging suits, I decided that I wanted to wear them to and see what it was actually like to wear one. I loved the swishy sound they made when the pant legs rubbed together. When I went school clothes shopping, my parents bought me several jogging suits to wear to school. One day, during the warmer weather it was pouring down rain and I was finally able to wear one of my jogging suits. So, I wore a bright pink jogging suit without lining that day with a light pink tee shirt. Then when it got cold I was in one of those suits everyday.
I was in one of these suits almost daily during second grade. In the warmer weather I was in pair of wind pants and I'd often wear a matching wind vest. And in the cooler weather I was in a pair of windpants and a matching wind jacket.
