I had a pair of purple crushed velvet hot pants with a matching vest. They were cute but when I entered high school in the fall of 1973 my purple shorts were already kinda out-of-style where I lived. By then our shorts were made out of not-so-fancy fabrics and the white go-go boots were also thought of as being silly. The shorts were not quite as short as the "hot pants" either. They were more trouser-style and often cuffed. Mostly we wore our cut-off 501s!
I'm doing a school project and have to loook up the seventies. Hotpants rule. I have 5 pairs for the summer, Man!
I had two pairs one was dark green crushed velvet and the other was crushed velvet purple w/white pin strips and wore with my white knee boots. So short my cheeks sometimes showed. Sexy!!!
Sorta the same as booty shorts. I remember that Nair commercial with the chicks in hotpants. LOL
i love these hot pants. Sometimes when im home alone i steal my mothers and run laps with them on until im drenched with sweat
I wore these in high school (70-74). My favorite pair were fake Leopard skin worn with black belt & gold long-puffy-sleeved blouse (I had a purse to match, too). Go Go Boots went out in the 60s, we wore them with chunky platform shoes.
Good old hot pants. I had a pair of mauve ones with a zipper that that had a ring to use to draw the zipper up. I used to whear them with a skinny rib top.
my sexy, curvy, older sister had a pair of white cotton ones w/ a corset-style lace up front. SO SHORT, they barely covered her kooch!
My wife wore hot pants a lot. She was in her late 20's.They were very tight and short made of spandex.She wore them a size smaller.She got a lot of comments from men.Most left some cheek showing. We loved them.
I thought they were too tight to wear.
I made my own hot pants by taking a couple pairs of satin jeans and shortening them to short shorts with a cuff in them. They were so neat, I'd wear them with heels and a dressy top if we were out dancing, or put on tennis shoes and a little t-shirt with them for the day. One of my fav looks, I wish I could still pull them off!
Once had a blind date with a pretty young lady who wore them back in the day. I remember I almost tripped over her grandmothers potted plant on the way to the car. It has been 40 years and the thought of that night still makes me smile.
In 1973 I was 11 years old and for Christmas that year, my mom gave me a hot-pants jumpsuit. It was hot pink velvet. Boy I sure remember wearing those to special events. Cried when I out grew them !
I BROUGHT MY FIRST PAIR IN BLACK NEVER GOT TO WEAR THEM AS I LEFT THEM ON THE BUS BRAND NEW JUST BROUGHT THEM
