I had fake Dingos. Always worn with my gaugos, or with my jeans tucked into the top of them. I am always remined of them when I see Jackie wearing them on That 70s Show.

I associate these with the years 1975 through 1977, when girls in my school wore them with corduroy or denim gauchos with matching hooded vests, cowlneck sweaters or kangaroo-pouch blouson tops with hoods (really hoodies from back when they weren't called hoodies). The popular ones where I lived were made by either Dingo or Fry, and they were worn by men and women, but mostly women, and younger women - girls, really - at that. Teenagers wore these; adult women wore the high-heeled riding boots popular at the time. I remember some Dingo boots being in patchwork leather with square in different shades of brown interspersed with forest greens and cordovans.

I still have a pair from the late 70's. My 20 year old said she wants them now since I don't wear heels anymore.

I liked wearing Dingo boots and also having the girl you were out with wearing them, too. They didn't have to be matching, but just that you and she were each wearing Dingos.

Dingo Boots go back a little further than mid-70s. Many a Gold Key comic book printed comic-strip ads featuring NY Jets superstar Joe Namath in 1971. Namath used Dingos to trip up criminals in each ad.
