I love these shoes. All the kids in the neighborhood made fun of my blue hightops, I think mostly it was because I was a girl. These were so fun, since you had such a large area to put graffiti on. Once I think I wrote Pat loves Johnny on them only later to scratch it out and write Pat loves David. LOL!

I find it pretty immature (and somewhat ironic) that you're calling a shoe style "gay." Perhaps trying to draw attention away from yourself..? In any case, I actually have five pairs of these today. Black high-tops and black low-tops, a pair of black low-tops with cherries and flowers on, a hot pink pair and a lime green pair. They're very easily my favorite shoes and they're completely timeless. There's nothing that doesn't match black Converse! [:

I enjoy a pleasant midnight snack in front of the fire while i read modern poetry. Also i like to fish for trout and cook them inside of my hot steaming bathtub and read acrhie comics. Grew up down south and when we got new chuck taylor's we got new stahs (stars) as classmates would call it
I absolutely love these shoes they are the so amazing! This is such a cowinkadink since right now i am doing some resaerch over the 70's and well chuck taylors were in back then and they still are very much today they always will!:)
ACTUALLY, these were the first gym shoes in the 50's, but they are SO CLASSIC they've rolled over into the 70's, 80's, and even 90's, and even now, my husband and friends 15 yr old daughter have many pairs! A little flat for me, but always stylish :D

man...youth is wasted on the young. Cons were the baller's shoe of choice when I was coming up, (late'60's-early'70's). They were built different then; better arch support, thicker sole, heavier canvas and that blue patch on the heel. Then if you wore them, you'd better have some game...girls and non-ballers wearing them came into being after Adidas and Nike took over...word.

Chucks are almost 100 years old. They first came out in 1917 and were mainly used in basketball. Now it's more of a casual wear. I own a few pairs of Chucks. An all black pair, a pair of bright orange, and a pair of green. I haven't worn any other pairs of shoes besides boots for over 10 years. If people think these shoes suck, why have they been around for almost 100 years?
